Ouders/Parentage: WALZ Harp x ?

This plant's double flowers are so strangely shaped and so overfilled with petals that they hardly ever open up without any problems. The flower below right is a good one.

'Leonie Boffe' (or Boffé?) really is a monstruosity, with overfilled flowers that mostly don't open up properly. As a rule the sepals remain partly closed and get wrinkled and dry soon by the pressure from the enormous mass of petals. It would have been likely this bizarre plant hadn't even passed the examination, but on the other hand, its unusual appearance has a charm of its own. Besides, it is free-flowering and lovely coloured. Not easy to get through the winter, though - its mother is a "WALZ musical instrument"; it should be kept growing in a flowerpot, and not too cold.

Knop, 4 x vergroot.
Bud, 4 x enlarged. Notice the flat-and-wide ovary and the thick hollow tube.
