'Mantilla' is een heel bekende, maar geen gemakkelijke fuchsia, die als nr. 1 in de lijst van de AFS (American Fuchsia Society) geregistreerd staat. Of deze lijst te vinden is op het Internet, weet ik helaas niet, ik heb er weleens naar gezocht.
Ik kreeg in het najaar van 1999 van een fuchsiavriend een aantal stekken, waaronder ook van 'Mantilla', maar helaas heb ik van deze plant niets teruggezien deze zomer, terwijl de meeste andere stekken toch wel waren aangeslagen. Waarschijnlijk werden de stekken door roest aangetast en heb ik ze weg moeten doen.
From a fuchsiafriend I got a few cuttings in the autumn of 1999, among which also 'Mantilla', a beautiful but not very easy fuchsia.
It is number 1 in the AFS-list of the American Fuchsia Society,
I've heard it said, but I never could find this list anywhere on the world wide web, to my regret.
I never found a trace of 'Mantilla' anymore among the surviving cuttings last spring; I suppose its cuttings got infested with rust, so I had to remove them.
But I still had these scans to put on this page.
