| 'Straat Agulhas' heeft, zoals hierboven te zien is, een zeer ingewikkelde "stamboom". De plant is niet bijzonder spectaculair, heeft vrij kleine bloemen in een normale "fuchsia-vorm" met een wat lange bloembuis. De knoppen zijn lichtrose, en de pas-geopende bloemen zijn ook nog vrij licht, maar de kelk wordt snel donkerder, zoals hierboven ook te zien is. Opmerkelijk op deze foto's is de fasciatie van de knop/bloem rechtsonder. Dit merkwaardige verschijnsel heeft zich de afgelopen zomer (2002) bij minstens 4 verschillende cultivars voorgedaan. | 'Straat Agulhas' has, as you can see above, a very complicated pedigree. In spite of that, the plant doesn't look very spectacular, with rather small flowers which have a normal "fuchsia-shape" with a longish tube. The buds are light-pink, and also the newly opened flowers are fairly light, but the sepals quickly turn darker, as you can see above. Remarkable in these pictures is the fasciation of the bud/flower below-right. This funny phenomenon occurred with at least 4 different cultivars last summer (2002). |
