Vroege lenteboden dit jaar, door het ontbreken van vorst - maar voorlopig is 't nog echt geen voorjaar!
Februari 2004
Hierboven een foto van crocussen op 4 februari, het lijkt geweldig mooi - maar hoewel de bloemen natuurlijk prachtig zijn (helaas wel wat beschadigd door hagel en wind), het weer is dat bepaald niet.
't Heeft tot nogtoe bijna niet gevroren, en daardoor zijn de voorjaarsbloemen al heel vroeg boven de grond (sneeuwklokjes bloeien ook volop), maar het is nat, nat en nog eens drijfnat de laatste weken. Buiten zijn is er niet bij, bovendien stormt het ook heel vaak. Waterstanden zijn hier en daar onrustbarend hoog.
9 februari:
Bij HERBARIUM drie nieuwe planten, herfst- en winterbloeiers, nl.:
- Poederkwast (Haemanthus albiflos) - 2 bladzijden
- Juweelorchidee (Haemaria discolor) - 2 bladzijden
- Koraalcactus (Hatiora salicornioides) - 1 bladzijde
Verder nog eigen resultaten van zomer 2003 toegevoegd aan een plant waarvan al 4 bladzijden bestonden, nl.:
- Koningin van de Nacht (Selenicereus grandiflorus) - 2 bladzijden
Botanische woordenlijst NL-EN & EN-NL - nieuw !
(verzameld voor eigen gebruik, misschien voor bezoekers ook nuttig).
15 februari:
Drie nieuwe fuchsia's van de show in Ootmarsum in augustus 2003,
ook te vinden bij FUCHSIA-FOTO'S :
- 'Diana Wills'
- 'Land van Beveren'
- 'Phaidra'
Tenslotte een bladzijde toegevoegd aan een al aanwezige fuchsia:
- 'Windhapper'

February 2004Above a picture of crocuses on 4 February, a pretty sight - but though of course the flowers are lovely (alas, a bit damaged by wind and hail), the weather certainly isn't. Up till now there has been hardly any frost, which caused the spring flowers to emerge quite early (snowdrops are in full bloom too), but it's been wet-wet-wet during the last few weeks. Going outside - no way, moreover, there are heavy storms every now and again. In some places water levels are alarming.
9 February:
- Royal Paint Brush / White Blood Lily / Powder Puff / Shaving Brush Plant (Haemanthus albiflos) - 2 pages
- Jewel orchid (Haemaria discolor) - 2 pages
- Dancing Bones Cactus (Hatiora salicornioides) - 1 page
